Wholesale and retail trade sales statistics, 4th period 2010

In comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 2.2 per cent during the same period.

During the first eight months of this year retail sales of other household equipment in specialised stores had a growth of 3.8 per cent compared to the same period last year. Retail sales of other household equipment in specialised stores showed an increase in turnover of NOK 1.5 billion.

In July and August this year the turnover for retail sales increased by 1.5 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Major increase within trade and repair of motor vehicles

During the first eight months of 2010 the turnover within trade and repair of motor vehicles increased by NOK 16.4 billion, or 16.9 per cent, compared to the same period last year. In July and August this year the turnover in this industry increased by 14 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Wholesale up 6 per cent

The turnover in wholesale was NOK 491 billion during the first eight months this year. This is an increase of NOK 23.3 billion or 5 per cent compared to the first eight months of 2009. In July and August this year the growth was 2.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.
