Growth in retail sales of NOK 7 billion

The turnover in retail sales was NOK 315 billion during the first 10 months of 2010. This gives a growth of about NOK 7 billion or 2.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2009.

In comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 1.8 per cent during the same period.

During the first 10 months of 2010, retail sales of other household equipment in specialised stores had a growth of nearly 4 per cent compared to the same period of 2009. Retail sales of other household equipment in specialised stores showed an increase in turnover of NOK 2 billion.

In September and October 2010 the turnover for retail sales increased by slightly more than 1 per cent compared to the same period in 2009.

Major increase within trade and repair of motor vehicles

During the first 10 months of 2010, the turnover within trade and repair of motor vehicles increased by NOK 19 billion, or 15 per cent, compared to the same period of 2009.

In September and October 2010 the turnover in this industry increased by nearly 9 per cent compared to the same period in 2009.

Wholesale up 3 per cent

The turnover in wholesale was NOK 615 billion during the first 10 months of 2010. This is an increase of NOK 16 billion or almost 3 per cent compared to the first 10 months of 2009.

In September and October 2010 the growth was 2.5 per cent compared to the same period of 2009.
