Food, beverages and tobacco up 6.4 per cent
Retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco in specialised stores had a growth of NOK 177 million, or 6.4 per cent during March and April 2011 compared to the same period in 2010.
In comparison, grocery stores had a development of 2.9 per cent for the same period. The specialised stores had a turnover of nearly NOK 3 billion during March and April this year, in addition to an increase of about 5 per cent during the first four months in 2011 compared to the same period in 2010.
The turnover in retail sales was close to NOK 63 billion in March and April this year; a growth of 3.1 per cent from the same period last year. During the first four months of 2011 the retail sales had an increase of 2.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2010. In comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 2.0 per cent during the same period.
Trade and repair of motor vehicles up 5.6 per cent
The total for sales and repair of motor vehicles was NOK 32 billion; a growth of 5.6 per cent from March and April 2010 to March and April 2011.
Wholesale of NOK 136 billion
The turnover in wholesale was NOK 136 billion in March and April this year; an increase of 6.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.
