Food and beverage for NOK 30 billion
Retail sales in grocery stores together with food and beverages in specialised stores were more than NOK 30 billion during March and April 2013. This is an increase of almost NOK 800 million, or nearly 3 per cent, compared to the same period in 2012.

Retail sales of food and beverage amount to 46 per cent of the total retail sales in March and April this year. The total turnover in retail sales was NOK 66 billion; an increase of 1.4 per cent compared to the same period last year. By comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 1.1 per cent during the same period.
The total turnover in retail sales in the first four months of this year was NOK 1.5 billion, which is 1.2 per cent more than the same period last year.
Trade and repair of motor vehicles
Sales and repairs of motor vehicles totalled NOK 67 billion in the first four months of 2013; a growth of 5.3 per cent compared to the same period last year. In March and April this year, motor vehicle sales and repairs totalled NOK 34 billion; an increase of 4.2 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.
NOK 137 billion in wholesale turnover
The turnover in wholesale was NOK 137 billion in March and April 2013. This is an increase of 0.5 per cent compared to the same period in 2012. The total turnover in wholesale was NOK 267 billion in the first four months of 2013.
The figures do not include value added tax.
