Growth in retail sales
The turnover in retail sales was NOK 133 billion in the first four months of 2014, which corresponds to an increase of NOK 4.7 billion or 3.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.

By comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 3.3 per cent during the same period.
Retail sales of flowers, plants, seeds and fertilisers in specialised stores had the greatest increase with 16.6 per cent. This was followed by retail sales via mail order or via the Internet, which had an increase of 15.4 per cent compared to the same period last year.
In March and April 2014 (the second period) the turnover was NOK 69 billion; an increase of 4.5 per cent or NOK 2.9 billion compared with the same period in 2013.
Trade and repair of motor vehicles increased
The sales and repair of motor vehicles had an increase of NOK 2.3 billion during the first four months of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013; a growth of 3.6 per cent.
In the second period, the sales and repair of motor vehicles increased by NOK 1.9 billion compared to the same period in 2013; an increase of 5.7 per cent.
Wholesale of NOK 279 billion
The turnover in wholesale was NOK 279 billion in the first four months of 2014, which is an increase of 5.0 per cent compared to the same period last year.
In the second period in 2014 the growth in wholesale turnover was NOK 8.2 billion, or 6.0 per cent more than the same period in 2013.
