More new enterprises

A total of 17 559 new enterprises were registered during the first quarter of 2017. This is an increase of 5.9 per cent compared with the same period in 2016.

Most new enterprises were registered within scientific and technical activities (18 per cent), construction (15 per cent) and retail trade (12 per cent).

Sole proprietorships accounted for 56 per cent of all enterprises in the 1st quarter of 2017 and private limited liability companies accounted for 42 per cent. Compared with the 1st quarter of 2016, the number of new registered private limited liability companies increased by 9 per cent and the number of new sole proprietorships increased by 4 per cent.

Overall, 3 666 new enterprises were registered in Oslo. In comparison with the 1st quarter of 2016, this is an increase of 9 per cent.
The figures include all new enterprises except enterprises within agriculture, forestry, fishing and public administration.
