This statistics comprise establishments on the Norwegian mainland as per 1 January 2012. The number of establishments reflects the population of the Central Register of Enterprises and Establishments (CRE) at a given point in time (1 January). Changes in the procedures and timing for updating the CRE can lead to changes in the number of establishments from one year to another. The number of establishments has increased significantly from 1 January 2012 to 1 January 2013. This should not be interpreted only as a real increase, since technical factors will affect the number of establishments in addition to actual new establishments and closures. In 2012, the tax questionnaire on accounting was introduced as a source in the surveillance system. In addition, procedures for the reactivation of establishments changed. Along with accounting information, information from the income statement and new procedures for reactivation led to 15 000 enterprises being reactivated in the CRE. |
