10 089 new enterprises

10 089 new enterprises were registered during the 3rd quarter of 2003 - an increase of 719 compared with the second quarter of 2003. These figures include all enterprises except public administration, agriculture, forestry and fishing.

Statistics from the Central Register of Establishments and Enterprises of Statistics Norway substantiate this development.

Increase in the number of new enterprises compared to the 2n d quarter of 2003

719 more new enterprises were registered in the 3n d quarter 2003 compared with the previous quarter. The increase is even greater compared with the 3r d quarter in 2002. About 94 per cent of the new enterprises registered in the period are new established enterprises, which are not registered to take over an existing establishment.
