15 556 new enterprises

15 556 new enterprises were registered during the first quarter of 2006. This is an increase of 2 287 (17 percent) compared with the same quarter in 2005. These figures include all enterprises except public adminstration, agriculture, forestry and fishing.

Statistics from the Central Register of Establishments and Enterprises of Statistics Norway substantiate this development.

Almost 17 900 private limited companies registered in 2005 as a consequence of changes in tax the legislation are excluded from the statistics.
