Continuous growth in number of new enterprises

In the fourth quarter of 2006, approximately 13 700 new established enterprises were registered. Compared with the same period of 2005, the number went down by 7 per cent. However, the total number of new established enterprises in 2006 was 5.4 per cent higher than in 2005.

The number of new established enterprises rose by 43 per cent from 2001 to 2006( 1 ). The highest growth was within financial intermediation, where the number of new enterprises has quadrupled.
