Decline in newly established enterprises
The number of newly established enterprises is no longer rising. In 2007 a total of 48 952 new enterprises were established, a decrease of 4.7 per cent compared with 2006. The number of newly established limited companies declined by 7.4 per cent.
The figures include all enterprises except enterprises involved in agriculture, forestry, fishing or public administration.
The data for 1 January 2007 and the number of closed-down enterprises in 2006 have been updated since the previous release. The quarterly statistics on new enterprises have been used to update the number of new enterprises.
