Weak growth in number of new enterprises

A total of 11 795 new enterprises were registered in the fourth quarter of 2009. This corresponds to an increase of 280 compared with the fourth quarter in the previous year.

New enterprises, newly established enterprises and take-overs. 2001-2009

In total, 45 468 new enterprises were registered in 2009. This is a decrease of nearly 9 per cent compared with 2009. A total of 42 247 of the new enterprises are newly established enterprises, while nearly 3 221 were takeovers.
