11 764 new enterprises
A total of 11 764 new enterprises were registered in Norway during the third quarter of 2010. This corresponds to an increase of 8 per cent compared with the third quarter of 2009.
Over 60 per cent of the new enterprises in the third quarter were sole proprietorships. One out of four were private limited companies. The third most common organisational form among the new enterprises was Norwegian division of foreign enterprise (NUF). A total of 1 033 NUFs were registered this quarter; an increase of almost 19 per cent compared with the corresponding period the year before.
Almost one out of three new enterprises belonged to construction and professional, scientific and technical activities.
The figures include all enterprises except enterprises involved in agriculture, forestry, fishing or public administration. These figures can be found in StatBank by economic activity code, legal form, county and municipality. |
