11 854 new enterprises
A total of 11 854 new enterprises were registered in Norway in the 2nd quarter of 2011; a decline of 2 623 enterprises compared to the 1st quarter of 2011.
The number of new enterprises went down from 14 477 in the 1st quarter to 11 854 in the 2nd quarter of 2011. The biggest fall was in the sole proprietorships. Nevertheless, almost three out of five newly established enterprises were a sole proprietorship.
Construction was the biggest industry, with 1 816 new enterprises registered in the 1st quarter of 2011. The other big industries among the newly established enterprises were professional, scientific and technical activities and wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, with 1 665 and 1 421 new enterprises respectively.
The figures include all enterprises except enterprises involved in agriculture, forestry, fishing or public administration. These figures can be found in StatBank by economic activity code, legal form, county and municipality. |
