A total of 12 567 new enterprises were registered during the 4th quarter of 2012. This is 6.9 per cent more than in the 4th quarter of 2011.

A total of 55 415 new enterprises were registered in 2012, an increase of 10.9 per cent compared to 2011.

Increasing number of limited liability companies

The number of private limited liability companies increased by 60.1 per cent in 2012 compared to the previous year. A total of 43 per cent of the new enterprises in 2012 were private limited liability companies, and 52.4 per cent were sole proprietorships.

Most new enterprises were registered within construction (15.4 per cent) and professional, scientific and technical activities (14.3 per cent). The number of new enterprises within construction increased by 23.7 per cent from 2011 to 2012.
