More new enterprises

A total of 13 869 new enterprises were registered in the third quarter of 2014. This is an increase of 4.3 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.

A total of 44 208 new enterprises were registered in the first three quarters of 2014. This is an increase of 5.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.

From the third quarter of 2013 to the third quarter of 2014, the number of new sole proprietorships increased by 7.8 per cent. During the same period, the number of new registered private limited liability companies increased by 1.8 per cent. Private limited liability companies accounted for 38 per cent of all new enterprises in the third quarter of 2014 and sole proprietorships accounted for 59 per cent.

Most new enterprises were registered within construction (15 per cent), scientific and technical activities (14 per cent) and retail trade (12 per cent).

The figures include all new enterprises except enterprises within agriculture, forestry, fishing and public administration. These figures can be found in StatBank by economic activity, legal form, county and municipality.
