A total of 16 148 new enterprises were registered during the first quarter of 2015. This is 0.9 per cent fewer than in the same period in 2014.

From the 1st quarter of 2014 to the 1st quarter of 2015, the number of new sole proprietorships increased by 3.6 per cent. During the same period, the number of new registered private limited liability companies decreased by 7.1 per cent. Private limited liability companies accounted for 40 per cent of all new enterprises and sole proprietorships accounted for 56.5 per cent.

Most new enterprises were registered within scientific and technical activities (15 per cent), construction (13 per cent) and retail trade (12 per cent).

The figures include all new enterprises except enterprises within agriculture, forestry, fishing and public administration.
