More new enterprises
A total of 16 574 new enterprises were registered during the first quarter of 2016. This is an increase of 2.6 per cent compared with the same period in 2015. Most of the new enterprises were registered in Oslo and Akershus.

From the 1st quarter of 2015 to the 1st quarter of 2016, the number of new sole proprietorships increased by 2.4 per cent, and the number of new registered private limited liability companies increased by 3.8 per cent. Sole proprietorships accounted for 56 per cent of all enterprises in the 1st quarter of 2016 and private limited liability companies accounted for 40 per cent.
Most new enterprises were registered within scientific and technical activities (16 per cent), construction (13 per cent) and retail trade (12 per cent).
The figures include all new enterprises except enterprises within agriculture, forestry, fishing and public administration.
