Number of bankruptcies fade out

The number of bankruptcies in the 2n d quarter of 2003 increased by 18 per cent compared with the 2n d quarter in 2002. There is no increase compared with the 1s t quarter 2003.

In the 1s t quarter this year, the increase was above 40 per cent compared with the 1s t quarter in 2002. This may indicate that the increase in number of bankruptcies has stopped. The total number of bankruptcies in the first half 2003 is still the highest in the period of the bankruptcy statistics (since 1993).

Low increase in sale and ICT

Compared with the 2n d quarter in 2002, the increase in number of bankruptcies is low in the ICT-sector and in wholesale and retale trade. The number of enterprise bankruptcies in wholesale and retale trade is lower compared with the 2n d quarter in 2002, while the number of personal bankruptcies is slightly higher.
