In the second quarter of 2015, 1 165 bankruptcies were registered. This is a decrease of 8 per cent compared with the second quarter of 2014.

The largest drop in percentage terms was in the counties of Hordaland, Hedmark and Oppland, with 33, 28 and 22 per cent fewer bankruptcies compared with the second quarter in 2014. The largest rise in percentage terms was in the counties of Sør-Trøndelag and Buskerud, with 60 and 23 per cent more bankruptcies respectively. These were also the counties with the largest increase in absolute figures, with 28 and 15 more bankruptcies respectively.

Three out of four bankruptcies, a total of 866, related to enterprises (except sole proprietorships). Twenty-eight per cent of these enterprises were in wholesale and retail trade. The remaining 299 bankruptcies related to sole proprietorships and personal bankruptcies. Thirty-eight per cent of these were in construction.

During the first six months of this year, 2 459 bankruptcies were registered. This is a decrease of 4 per cent compared with the same period in 2014.
