NOK 43 billion in operating profit

In the fourth quarter of 2009, listed enterprises had NOK 43 billion in operating profit. The before tax profits was NOK 36 billion.

The enterprises did significantly better than in the fourth quarter of 2008, when they suffered before tax losses of NOK 8 billion. Nevertheless, many companies are still making losses. Of the 142 companies covered by the statistics, 47 per cent made operating losses, and 46 per cent suffered before tax losses in fourth quarter 2009.
