Highest profit since second quarter 2008

The profit before tax for listed enterprises totalled NOK 52 billion in the third quarter of 2010, rising from the previous quarter by over NOK 6 billion, and by NOK 7 billion from the third quarter of 2009. This was also the best performance since the second quarter of 2008, during which the enterprises achieved the highest profit since 2002 when the statistics were established.

While the figure was the same as in the second quarter of 2010, i.e. about NOK 310 billion, operating income increased by NOK 17 billion from the third quarter of 2009.
