Continued good performance

The accounts for listed enterprises showed strong progress in the first quarter. Surplus of NOK 75 billion before tax represents a growth of 69 per cent over the same period last year.

In spite of the tremendous increase in profit, the number of enterprises which made deficit remained unchanged from the first quarter of 2010.

Operating profit was also 39 per cent better than the previous year, whereas the share of companies with operating losses has decreased by 7 per cent.
