In February this year a total of 11,509 immigrants were registered as unemployed in Norway. This is a reduction of 661 persons from the same time last year. The figures cover first generation immigrants.
Registered unemployment among immigrants fell from 13.1 to 11.9 per cent from February 1995 to February this year. During the same period, the jobless rate for the population as a whole fell from 5.3 to 4.5 per cent. The biggest decline in registered unemployment was seen among men immigrants from the Third World.
