The increase from July last year to July this year (12-month growth rate) was 1.3 percent. The 12-month growth rate thus topped one percent for the first time since January. The all-items index for July was 263.9.
The consumer price index rose 0.4 percent from June to July, with higher prices for cheese, milk, meat and electricity accounting for most of the increase. In the opposite direction, summer clothing sales and further cuts in petrol prices served to soften the increase.
