Increase in child welfare workers

The number of filled positions in local child welfare services in Norway increased by three per cent from 1994 to 1995. Staffing is nevertheless at the same level as in 1994, measured in proportion to the number of children under 18. There are still large differences in staffing from county to county.

The percentage of unfilled jobs in child welfare services has declined over the past two years. At the end of 1993, seven per cent of the positions were unfilled. The year after the percentage had dropped to five per cent, and at the end of 1995 it had sunk to three per cent. For calculation purposes, the number of positions was recalculated into full-time positions.
