Six counties see tax income grow by more than 10 per cent

Norway's tax accounts show that so far this year (January to October), tax revenues total more than NOK 197 billion. This is 10.8 per cent higher compared to the same period last year. The share of the tax receipts accruing to the municipalities (local governments) has increased by 5.5 per cent. At the same time, six counties have seen tax revenues increase by 10 or more per cent.

Advance payments of tax, which account for more than 80 per cent of the tax revenues so far this year, are up by just over eight per cent, or NOK 12.3 billion. Advance payment of tax thus accounts for nearly NOK 162 billion in tax receipts. Tax collected in arrears excluding oil taxes grew 28 per cent or NOK 3.3 billion. Oil taxes have increased by 21.4 per cent or nearly NOK 3.7 billion compared to the same period last year. Consequently, a total of NOK 20.1 billion has been paid in oil taxes so far this year.
