Higher plumbing costs

From February 1998 to March 1998 material costs for plumbing work rose 2.4 per cent for single-family homes and 2.3 per cent for terrace houses and apartment buildings. Total plumbing costs rose 1.7 per cent during the same period.

From February 1998 to March 1998 total material costs rose 0.3 per cent , while total building costs went up 0.2 per cent.

From March 1997 to March 1998 material costs for plumbing work increased 4.3 per cent. Overall plumbing costs rose 3.5 per cent for terrace houses and 3.4 per cent for single family houses and apartment buildings.

Although the partial index for electrical work has not changed in the past month, it is the one that has risen the most in the past year. Total electrical costs thus rose to 4.6 per cent, while material costs increased by 4.5 per cent.
