NOK 14 billion on sewage and sanitation
The turnover in sewage and refuse disposal, sanitation and similar activities was NOK 14 billion in 2008. This is an increase of 9 per cent compared with 2007.
Businesses dealing with the collection and treatment of sewage had a turnover of NOK 12 billion in 2008; an increase of 8 per cent compared with 2007. In the sixth period, the turnover was NOK 1 914 million; an increase of 8 per cent compared with the same period in 2007.
The turnover in businesses dealing with the collection and treatment of other waste was NOK 1.5 billion in 2008. This industry group had an increase of 15 per cent compared with 2007. In November and December, the turnover was NOK 289 million; an increase of 19 per cent.
Within sanitation, remediation and similar activities, the turnover was NOK 685 million in 2008. This is 20 per cent higher than in 2007. In the sixth period of 2008, the turnover was NOK 134 million; an increase of 12 per cent compared with the same period in 2007.
Important announcement: New classification being implemented shortlyFrom January 2009, a new version of Norwegian industry classification (SIC2007) will be used. The classification is in accordance with the EC’s new NACE rev.2 classification.
