The purpose of the price index for new detached houses is to compile an output price index for construction activity. Prices of new detached houses increased by 3.9 per cent from the third to the fourth quarter of 2013.

Price increase for new detached houses

Prices of new detached houses increased by 3.9 per cent from the third to the fourth quarter of 2013. New detached houses were 6.7 per cent more expensive in the fourth quarter of 2013 than in the same quarter in 2012.

The contractors’ construction costs for detached houses of wood increased by 2.8 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2012 to the same quarter in 2013, according to Statistics Norway’s construction cost index .

According to the annual price index, new detached houses were 3.2 per cent more expensive in 2013 than in the previous year.
