Name Fishing as source of livelihood
Definition The variable shows if a fisherman has fishing as main occupation or if he is a part-time fisherman (secondary occupation).

Comments Main occupation: A person who at least has 20 weeks of fishing activity and a taxable income from fisheries equivalent to the basic amount defined by the National Insurance System. A person earning more than three times the basic amount from other activity cannot be defined as having fishing as main occupation. A person who has full retirement pension can not be defined as having fishing as main occupation. In addtion, the income from fisheries must be 2/3 of total income. Part-time fisherman: A person that is a commercial fisherman earning at least an amount equal to half the basic amount defined by the National Insurance System from fisheries. A person earning more than four times the basic amount from other activity cannot be included a part-time fisherman
