Fewer man-years in municipal authorities

Preliminary figures show a slight decrease in the number of employed persons and man-years within the municipal authorities from the 4th quarter of 2013 to the 4th quarter of 2014.

Measured by the number of employees, the decrease was 0.2 per cent, or nearly 2 000 employees. Man-years in kindergartens show a decrease of 3.3 per cent compared to 2013. At the same time, health and social services had a growth of nearly 1 per cent.

In county authorities, the man-years showed a decrease of 1.5 per cent compared to the 4th quarter of 2013. The number employed was reduced by 2.2 per cent.

Increase in nursing and care services

Taking into account services from private enterprises or inter-municipal companies in nursing and care services, preliminary figures show that contracted man-years in nursing and care increased by 1 300 man-years, or 1.0 per cent, from the 4th quarter of 2013 to the 4th quarter of 2014. The share of man-years in private services shows an increase after being stable for several years, and now makes up 7.3 per cent of all services.
