Compensation in cash up 11 per cent
Total paid compensations in cash amounted to NOK 807 billion in 2007. This is an increase of NOK 80 billion, or 11 per cent, from 2006.
Compensation paid to men increased by 11.5 per cent, from NOK 448 billion in 2006 to NOK 499 billion in 2007. In comparison, women received NOK 307 billion in 2007, an increase of 10.1 per cent from 2006. 2 861 000 persons received compensation in cash in 2007, which is 107 000 more than in 2006.
Disbursements of unemployment benefits
94 000 persons received unemployment benefits in 2007, a decrease of 21 per cent from the year before. Total disbursements of unemployment benefits amounted to NOK 4.3 billion in 2007, a decrease of 28.5 per cent from 2006.
