Growth in loans to employees in all counties

Total loans from banks and mortgage companies to employees in Norwegian counties increased by 6.2 per cent in 2014, down from 7.3 per cent in the previous year. The loans to employees grew in all counties in 2014.

Total loans from banks and mortgage companies to employees in Norwegian counties amounted to NOK 2 161 billion at the end of 2014. This was an increase from NOK 2 036 billion at the end of the year before.

Sør-Trøndelag county had the strongest growth

The growth in loans from banks and mortgage companies was strongest in Sør-Trøndelag county in 2014, reaching 7.9 per cent. These loans amounted to NOK 130 billion, and made up a share of 6 per cent of the total loans.

Finnmark county had the weakest growth in loans of all counties with 4.1 per cent. Loans to employees in Finnmark county made up a share of 1.2 per cent of total loans at end-2014.

Largest share of loans in Oslo

Loans to Oslo county employees made up the largest share of the loans with 14.9 per cent of total loans. Loans from banks and mortgage companies to employees in Oslo amounted to NOK 321 billion at the end of 2014, up from NOK 300 billion the previous year. This corresponds to a yearly growth of 7.1 per cent in 2014.
