Low estimates for investments in the year 2000
According to Statistics Norway's investment survey for the 2. quarter covering Manufacturing, Mining and Quarrying and Electricity supply estimated investments for the year 2000 are NOK 18.2 billion.
This indicates a moderate reduction compared with the corresponding figures for 1999. The first estimates for 2001 imply a further decline in the investment activity. This is mainly due to low estimates for investments in the electricity sector.
Expected level of investments for the year 2000 is 2.5 per cent lower than the corresponding figures for 1999 the lowest estimates given in the 2. quarter since 1994. The estimates for 2001 are 10 per cent lower than the figures for the year 2000 given in the 2. quarter 1999.
