High investment estimates for 2002
Investment estimates for 2002 covering manufacturing, mining and quarrying and electricity supply show a considerable increase compared with estimates for 2001 reported at the same time last year. Estimates for 2001 are somewhat lower than the previous results.
Investment estimates for 2001 amount to NOK 19.6 billion in current value. This is a 4 per cent decrease in the 2001-estimates compared with the previous quarter. The decline is mainly due to a lower level of investment within the industry electricity supply. Several large projects within the industry basic metals contribute to an 11 per cent increase in the 2001-estimates compared with the corresponding figures for 2000.
Investment estimates for 2002 are up 10 per cent compared with the previous quarter and are now about NOK 20.4 billion. The increase is mainly due to investments in the industries food products, beverages, tobacco and electricity supply, while basic metals and pulp, paper and paper products are somewhat lower than the results from the previous quarter. The 2002-estimates show a 22 per cent increase compared with corresponding figures for 2001 reported at the same time last year.
