Estimates for 2002 remain positive
Total investments in 2001 showed a steady growth compared with 2000. Estimates for 2002 covering manufacturing, mining and quarrying, and electricity supply indicate that this development might continue.
Investments in 2001 were about NOK 20 billion in current value. This amounted to a growth of about 15 per cent compared with 2000. Final investments in the industries electricity supply and non-ferrous metals contributed considerably to this growth.
The 2002-estimates for manufacturing, mining and quarrying and electricity supply show signs of further growth in the level of investments for the present year. Compared with corresponding figures for 2001, a 9 per cent increase is expected. This is mainly due to further growth in the level of investments for the industries electricity supply and non-ferrous metals.
