High level of investment in 2002
Total investments covering manufacturing, mining and quarrying, and electricity supply continued to increase in 2002. Estimates for 2003 do not indicate a continuation of this development.
Total investments covering manufacturing, mining and quarrying and electricity supply amounted to NOK 21.5 billion in 2002 - measured in current value. This is an 8 per cent increase compared with corresponding figures in 2001.Various large projects within the industries non-ferrous metals and refined petroleum products, and chemicals and chemical products contributed considerably to this development.
Estimates for 2003 indicate a decline in total investments. This is mainly due to the fact that some large projects within the industry non-ferrous metals have entered their final stage. Unusually high estimates for investments within the industry electricity supply contribute to dampen the effect of lower estimates for manufacturing.
