Greatly reduced investments last year

According to Statistics Norway's investment survey for the 1. Quarter covering Manufacturing, Mining and Quarrying and Electricity supply the investments for 1999 amounted to 17.1 billion current Norwegian kroner. This is 18 per cent lower than in 1998. Compared with the investments during the 1995-1997 period the 1999-figure is more on level - in fact only slightly lower.

Electricity supply investments have been fairly stable during the period 1994-1999. Compared with last year's investments the estimates for the year 2000 indicate that further reductions may occur.
