High investments in electricity supply

Total investments within electricity supply were much higher in 2011 than in 2010. The growth is expected to continue in 2012, while the rise in investments within manufacturing is expected to come to a halt.

Total investments in 2011 covering manufacturing, mining and quarrying and electricity supply amounted to NOK 36.9 billion measured in current value. The result is 8 per cent higher than the corresponding figure for 2010. Strong growth in investments within electricity supply was the main reason for this development. Investments in manufacturing also seem to be growing.

Estimates for 2012 show a further increase in total investments. Strong results for investments within electricity supply explain this growth. However, the rise in investments within manufacturing is expected to come to a halt.
