Definitions of the main concepts and variables
-
Natural gas can be transported in three different ways:
- Natural gas in pipelines.
- As LNG (Liquiefied Natural Gas).
- As CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).
The natural gas is separated in these three types in the questionnaire.
Standard cubic metres (Sm 3 ) is a unit of measure estimated by approximately 15°C and approx. 1.01325 bar (1 atm.) pressure.
The energy content in natural gas can be changed from year to year, but the changes are relatively small. Theoretical energy content in natural gas in 2013 (Net Calorific Value): 35.44 TJ/mill. Sm 3 .
1 Terrawatthour (TWh) = 1000 Gigawatthours (GWh) = 3 600 Terrajoule (TJ)

Standard classifications
-
Sales of natural gas is divided between industries according to Standard Industrial Classification.
The statistics is now published as Production and consumption of energy, energy balance and energy account.
Additional information
The statistics do not include LPG («Liquefied Petroleum Gases»). The latest year consist of preliminary figures.
