Rise in turnover for manufacturing
Total turnover in Norwegian manufacturing amounted to just above NOK 510 billion from January to November 2005. All main industrial groupings except consumer goods experienced positive growth.
Turnover within Norwegian oil and gas extraction sector exceeded NOK 450 billion from January to November 2005, a 16.2 per cent growth compared to the same period in 2004. The change in seasonally adjusted turnover from October to November is, however, negative. An explanation can be that the average price on crude oil decreased by nearly NOK 13 per barrel compared with figures from October 2005 and fewer barrels were sold, according to external trade figures .
Growth in all main industrial groupings
The seasonally adjusted figures show growth in all the main industrial groupings this last three-month period compared with the previous three-month period. The growth is still strong within capital goods. Positive figures are recorded in most sectors. Oil platforms and modules and food products, beverages and tobacco are worth mentioning, as they rose by 11.8 and 4.1 per cent respectively, from September to November compared with June to August 2005. Yet turnover decreased for basic metals, pulp, paper and paper products and basic chemicals.
