Growth in manufacturing
Seasonally adjusted figures show that turnover within Norwegian manufacturing in the period from December to February increased by 6 per cent compared with the previous three months. The turnover increased in both the domestic and export market, with 8.2 and 2.1 per cent.
Seasonally adjusted figures show that all main industrial groupings, except energy goods, increased this last three-month period. Intermediate goods had the strongest growth and increased by 5.7 per cent. The main cause to this raise in turnover is found within refined petroleum products and chemicals and chemical products. Capital goods rose by 4.8 per cent, and here oil platforms are the prime mover. The biggest industry within consumer goods, food products, beverage and tobacco, was decreasing in this period. Consumer goods still ended up with a positive sign, an increase of 3.1 per cent. Energy goods fell by 3.3 per cent and it was the home market that was causing this.
Weaker turnover from January to February
Seasonally adjusted figures show that both capital goods and energy goods has a fall in turnover from January to February. Intermediate goods and consumer goods only have a small increase of less than 1 per cent.

The variation in manufacturing turnover can be related to changes in volume and price indices in different industries and also production to stocks and sales from stocks.
