Higher estimates for 2009

Total investments in oil and gas activity in 2009, including pipeline transportation, are now estimated at NOK 145.5 billion - an increase of NOK 12.7 billion compared with the estimate given in the 3rd quarter of 2008. The increase is mainly due to higher estimates in fields on stream.

Probably, the estimates in this survey are mainly made before the financial crisis` impact on the oil market had materialized. There is reason to believe that the oil companies` flexibility regarding investments next year are bound by already signed contracts with subcontractors.
