Lower exploration estimates for 2010

Investments in exploration are now estimated at NOK 29 billion for 2010; a decrease of NOK 6 billion compared with the estimates given in the previous quarter. The estimates for fields on stream and field development remain the same.

The estimate is at the same level as the corresponding estimate for 2009, given in the 4th quarter of 2008.

Estimates for 2010

Total investments in oil and gas extraction and pipeline transport for 2010 are now estimated at NOK 138.5 billion. This is NOK 7 billion lower than the estimate conducted in the survey in the previous quarter.

The estimate is NOK 6.9 billion lower than the corresponding estimate for 2009. The decrease is due to lower investments in field development and fields on stream, while the estimates indicate the same level of investment in exploration, onshore activity and pipeline transportation.

Investments in field development and fields on stream are now estimated at NOK 101.6 billion. This is NOK 0.7 billion lower than the estimates given in the previous quarter.

Onshore activity and pipeline transportation are estimated at NOK 7 and 0.9 billion respectively.

Estimates for 2009

Total investments in oil and gas activities for 2009, including pipeline transportation, are estimated at NOK 141.2 billion. The estimate is NOK 13.2 billion higher than the corresponding estimate for 2008 and NOK 2.3 billion lower than the estimate given in the previous quarter.

Investments for exploration activity in 2009 are estimated at NOK 29.7 billion. The estimate is NOK 4.7 billion higher than the corresponding estimate for 2008, given in the 4th quarter of 2008.

Investments for field development and fields on stream are now estimated at NOK 104.0 billion.

This is NOK 1.4 billion higher than the estimate given in the previous quarter.

Onshore activities and pipeline transportation are estimated at NOK 6.8 and 0.8 billion respectively.
