Record low sale of light heating oils

The deliveries of light heating oils came to 22 million litres in July, a 22.3 per cent fall compared with July 2001, and the lowest reported sale since the beginning of these statistics in 1973. Also deliveries of heating and lighting kerosene and heavy fuel oil showed a considerable decrease in July.

For the past 12-month period, the changes in deliveries of these products were modest compared with the previous 12-months period. However there are some regional differences. Hedmark and Telemark had an increase of sales of more than 25 per cent and Rogaland a decrease of about 20 per cent of light heating oils.

The total deliveries of heavy fuel oil showed a slight fall, whereas deliveries of heavy fuel oil to domestic market increased considerably, with a strong increase in Rogaland and a substantial decrease in Telemark.

Total deliveries

Deliveries of petroleum products totalled 779 million litres in July, a 2.2 decrease compared with July last year. For the past 12 months the deliveries came to 9 112 million litres, and all together, the changes in deliveries were small in this period compared with the previous 12-month period.

There were 23 delivery days in July 2002 against 22 in July 2001.
