Continued growth in sale of heating oils

June is the tenth month in a row that we have seen a substantial increase in the sales of light heating oils. In particular, deliveries to houses and commercial buildings have contributed to the increase.

In June the deliveries of light heating oils came to 54 million litres. For June last year the corresponding figures were 36 million litres.

Heavy Fuel Oil

The deliveries of heavy fuel oil went up by 22 per cent, whereas deliveries decreased by 8.7 per cent during the past 12-month period. Both deliveries to ship in ocean transport and deliveries to the manufacturing industries contributed to the decrease. Deliveries to ship in ocean transport have shown a decrease during the entire period.

Auto diesel

The deliveries of auto diesel went up by 8.1 per cent compared with June last year. Deliveries of tax-free diesel increased the most. During the last 12 months the increase in deliveries of auto diesel was 3.8 per cent.

Total deliveries increased

Deliveries of petroleum products totalled 815 million litres in June, a 7.2 per cent increase compared with June last year. For the past 12 months the deliveries came to 9,487 million litres, a 3.9 per cent increase.

There were 20 delivery days in June 2003 as in June 2002.
