Small increase in sales of petroleum products

Total sales of petroleum products came to 747 million litres in January 2007, an increase of 1.6 per cent compared with January last year. The largest percentage increase was seen in sales of auto diesel and lighting kerosene.

Compared with February 2006, the sales of auto diesel increased by 10.9 percent and ended at 223 million litres. Sales of motor gasoline on the other hand decreased with 5.5 percent. Auto diesel and motor gasoline accounted for 49 per cent of total sales of petroleum products.

Both deliveries of lighting kerosene and light heating oil increased in February compared to the same month in 2006. The largest percentage increase was in lighting kerosene, with 10.4 percent.

The sales of marine gas oil and diesel, which accounts for 17 per cent of total sales of petroleum products, decreased by 7.2 percent compared to same month last year.

There were 20 delivery days in February, the same as in February 2006.
