Decreased sales of petroleum products first half of 2011

Total sales of petroleum products ended at 4.7 billion litres in the first six months of 2011. This is a reduction of 1.6 per cent compared to the first half of 2010. There has particularly been a reduction in the sales of heating products compared to the same period last year.

Several figures in the article, one of the graphs and two of the tables were corrected 20 July 2011 at 2.00 p.m. Incorrect reports caused the errors.

The sales of light heating oil and kerosene ended at 275 million litres. This is a reduction of 71 million litres or 20.5 per cent compared to the first half of 2010. The price of light heating oil has increased by 17.5 per cent from June 2010 to June 2011. Only from May to June this year the price increased by 2 per cent.

Auto diesel and motor gasoline

In the first half of 2011 the sales of auto diesel ended at 1.7 billion litres; an increase of 3.7 per cent compared to the first six months of 2010. The sales of motor gasoline had a 8.6 per cent decrease and ended at 730 million litres. The sales of auto diesel have increased steadily in recent years, but in June 2011, sales decreased by 6.4 per cent compared to June 2010. The sales of motor gasoline had a 7.1 per cent decrease compared to June 2010. The price of auto diesel had a 11.7 per cent increase from June 2010 to June this year. The prices of 95 octane and 98 octane motor gasoline increased in the same period by 11.5 per cent and 11.3 per cent.

Marine gas oil and jet fuel

The sales of marine gas oils had a 3 per cent increase compared to the first half of 2010 and ended at 901 million litres. The deliveries of jet fuel ended at 468 million litres, up 4.7 per cent from 2010.

There were 20 delivery days in June, compared to 22 in June 2010.
