Reduced sales in January

The total sales of petroleum products in January 2014 ended at 650 million litres. This is a reduction of 76 million litres compared with January 2013, which corresponds to a reduction of 10.5 per cent.

Sales of most petroleum products decreased compared to January 2013. The exceptions are sales of taxable auto diesel and jet kerosene.

Sales of taxable auto diesel increased by 2.6 million litres. Sales of jet fuel increased by 10.2 million litres, ending at 88.6 million litres in January this year. Sales of kerosene decreased by 2 million litres and total sales amounted to 4.2 million litres. Sales of motor gasoline ended at 93 million litres in January this year, which is a reduction of 7.8 per cent. Sales of middle distillates and heavy fuel oil decreased by 23.8 and 27.3 per cent respectively.

Increase in prices of fuel and kerosene

The average price of a litre of diesel was NOK 13.49, which represents an increase of NOK 0.19 from January 2013. One litre of gasoline on average cost NOK 14.91. This corresponds to an increase of NOK 0.50. One litre of kerosene on average cost NOK 11.22; NOK 1.35 more than in January 2013.

In January, there were 22 delivery days; the same as in January 2013.

As from January 2014, the figures for sales of lubricants and LPG will no longer be published monthly. Figures for annual sales will be included in the statistics for annual sales of petroleum products, which are published on 31 March. This article refers to figures from 2013. Lubricants and LPG are not included in these figures.
